What’s involved in your survey of my home?
In the UK, solar PV installations for homes typically fall under permitted development rights, meaning that planning permission is not required in most cases. This process is a result of the government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy and facilitating the adoption of solar power across the country. As long as the solar panels meet a certain criteria and are installed on the roof or wall of a single-family house, planning permission isn’t required. Generally, solar panels must not project more than 200mm from the surface of the roof or wall, and they must not exceed the highest part of the roof. Additionally, solar panels should not be installed on listed buildings or buildings located in conservation areas without prior approval.

So, what’s the process?

The process begins with your initial inquiry with us. You can contact us through our website, phone, or email to express your interest in solar PV installation for your business. During this stage, we’ll gather basic information about your location, energy needs, and any specific requirements you may have.
Step 2
Quote & Consultation
Once we receive your enquiry, one of us will reach out to schedule & free-of-charge survey. During the survey, we’ll carry out a detailed assessment of your property, along with energy usage, roof orientation, shading etc, to determine the optimal solar PV solution for your needs. We’ll provide you with a comprehensive quote that outlines the cost of the installation, potential savings, and any available incentives or financing options.
Step 3
Site Survey & Design
Once our proposals and quotation are good to go with you, we’ll schedule an installation date and be with you on-time, and ready to get you setup on your new solar beginnings. After this point, there’s not much else to do other than wait for all to begin on our arrival.

What are the benefits of installing solar panels in my home?

Is my home suitable for solar panel installation?
Most homes are suitable for solar panel installation as long as they have a roof or area with adequate sunlight exposure. Factors such as roof orientation, shading, and available space will be assessed during a site survey to determine suitability.
Will solar panels work during cloudy or rainy days?
Whilst solar panels perform better under direct sunlight, they can still generate fair amounts of electricity on cloudy or rainy days. However, their output can be reduced during these conditions. We often note customer’s surprise after installation when they discover truly how much power can be still be generated even on the most overcast days.
What happens if my solar panels produce more electricity than I use?
This is where our battery range comes in! Essentially, the excess can be exported back to the grid if your system is connected to the grid. Depending on your location and utility provider, you may receive credits or compensation for this excess energy through net metering or feed-in tariffs.
